Happy New Year 2009!

Hi guys! With major events like the Beijing Olympics, US Presidential Elections, the extreme rise and fall of crude oil prices, and slowdown of world economy, 2008 has been a long and slow year. Just being realistic, 2009 will be slower and longer for many adults. For some, it may present more challenges, some a chance to rest and reflect, and most will not feel any difference.

Whatever it is we think would come, we welcome the new year as a newborn child. Celebrate, then take good care of it as it grows. Who knows of what it may become, we just accept it. So.....

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

(Here some fireworks display videos to inspire us welcome the new year.)

Funny Balikbayan Box Video!

People from the Philippines knows what a Balikbayan Box is. For those of who don't, read on. Balikbayan is a combination of two Filipino(Tagalog) words Balik and Bayan, wherein Balik meant return and Bayan means home.
When Filipinos say Balikbayan, it refers to a Filipino who went to live and work abroad and is returning to the Philippines permanently, but today it can be used to describe just everyone who comes back. Here's a broad and detailed definition of Wikipedia: Balikbayan

Balikbayan Box then meant a cardboard box used to contain various products or items to utilize a Balikbayan's check-in baggage allowance in an airline. Here's a link to Wikipedia's short description of the Balikbayan Box .

Most can't relate with the video but its hilarious what Filipinos can stuff into the box just to have something to give to his family and relatives when he comes home.

Hehehe, that's a lot of SPAM! I also found the old magazines crazy!
Anyways, if you're interested to know, the lady on video did all the script, acting, piano, lyrics and singing of that funny christmas song. She's one of the most subscribed and watched user content maker in YouTube. Check out her YouTube channel HERE.
Oh, Merry Christmas to you. :)

Easy Win for "Pacman" Manny Pacquiao against "Golden Boy" Oscar dela Hoya in The Dream Match

Hey guys, watch this professional boxing HD video from HBO pay per view.

If you haven't seen a boxing match in years then I advice following this guy from the Philippines making new and exciting pages of boxing history. Though shorter and he weighs in like an average teenager, not the typical popular heavyweights, his boxing career and matches are as exciting and inspiring.
Professional boxing has weight divisions or classes but Manny Pacquiao has been from lower weight class super featherweight to today's welterweight division. He defeated all those defending their titles with many bouts resulting from a knockout or technical account achieving the title of the Pound per Pound King of boxing.

Anyways, this Dream Match against De la Hoya is an easy win for the Philippine Champ though had hard training and preparation before the fight. Having seen the video, we see lots of punches landed on the Golden Boy without much trouble. Pacman proved to be too fast for Oscar De la Hoya. Pacman was too fast that it can the give impression De la Hoya was just standing there and letting him get beaten by the Philippine boxer yet in reality Hoya just don't know what to do with him.

Boxing might be barbaric or brutal sports to some but for many who follow the sports, one can have love and fascination to it. For me, it's art.

Amazing speed painting on YouTube!

Hi guys,
I have been surfing YouTube for some Adobe Photoshop CS3 techniques that could be useful for me in the future, though I rarely use it.
While searching for more Adobe Photoshop magic tricks videos, i found this!

It is so awesome no matter where you're coming from. I can't recall the last time being so impressed by any work on art. I have come from having taught myself to draw during my childhood through copying images and draw them on paper, yet, this is still pretty amazing for someone who doesn't know or is already an expert in drawing/painting.
What also is amazing is the technology used to do that. He is using a pen tablet to draw while using Photoshop for those brushes, colors, and layers. Work duration is around 6 hours, pretty fast compared to old fashion paint and paintbrush. : )

Obama Does Not Use a Zune

I was reading an article reported that president- elect Obama was a Zune man.
(A Zune is Microsoft's mp3 player against Apple's Ipod)
For months, Apple fans are blogging loud that the first black president uses Mac's and Ipods.
This week, it was different, with some fans reacting violently in disbelief for that little detail in the blog post of the awe strucked blog writer.

Neal Santos, the writer, did not expected that the Zune detail in his blog post was that a big deal. He posted an update that he's indeed quite sure it was a Zune though not sure if it belonged to Obama.
“It had a dark case protecting it and from what I saw, he was using a Zune. I’ve seen a Zune in action. I know what it looks like. But no matter how sure I am, there will always be the possibility that he uses some other device.”

Not really news to me until interestingly an Obama spokesperson felt the need to clarify telling the world that Obama was an Ipod user.  Quite nice of the spokesperson to please the Apple fans but that seems not necessary since using a Zune is not that bad......I think. :)   Maybe Obama borrowed a Zune to listen to an FM station.
Anyways, I just felt people were too crazy about this thing.  In another news,
there is a recession going on. :p

Blogging for the first time

Hey guys,

this is Adrian, age mid 20's. Probably a lot of you have read and written a lot of blogs already and this will be first history making my first post.  I'm quite serious in this stuff but I might be throwing a lot of topics and ideas since I have yet to find nice topics and learning being here. Thanks in advance for the first who could find and greet me here. :p

First time I heard about blogging about three or four years ago but just learned that www.blogger.com has been up since 1999! Wow, that's a long time ago, its about year 1998 since I first experienced being online.  Being online for the first time felt weird and exciting, its like in another world, bigger than TV and radio.  Connection to that world felt temporary and cold since everytime I disconnect the dial-up connection and turn off the pc, I'm back to reality.

That probably what I feel now with blogging, feels weird speaking my mind into a blog which no one seems to read yet excited that someone in another continent might.  :D  For now, it feels disconnected....... probably not that long.
